Event Profile

The Sunday Age City2Sea presented by Westpac is the sister event to the world’s largest fun run, The Sun-Herald City2Surf in NSW. Your supporters have the choice of participating in either the 5km or 15km course which both cover some of Melbourne’s greatest landmarks before a spectacular finish on the beach in St Kilda.

How to set up a City2Sea supporter page

Setting up an online supporter page in the City2Sea is easy.

Step 1: Register as an event participant online at the City2Sea official website.
Step 2: To fundraise for a non-featured charity, skip the charity selection part of the City2Sea registration.
Step 3: After completing the event registration form, follow the prompts to visit the City2Sea fundraising website.
Step 4: Sign up to create your personal City2Sea supporter page and select a non-featured charity to support.
Step 5: Personalise your page with a profile photo and tell everyone why you’re supporting your chosen charity.
Step 6: Share your unique supporter page link with your friends, family and colleagues via email and social media.

*If event registration is not yet open you can still start fundraising! Simply set up your City2Sea Team Page using the guide below and start recruiting team members. Once registration is open just make sure to let your team know they still need to register for the event.

Asking your supporters to compete for you

It’s easy to make the most of the event opportunity. It all begins with asking your supporters to take part and support you by giving their effort and time. Make sure you ask:
  • Past supporters who have run, walked, ridden or swam for you previously
  • Both your one off and regular donors, by offering them another way they can support you with their effort
  • Your volunteers
  • Your charity’s staff
We have email templates to help you ask your supporters to compete.

Setting up a charity team

Setting up a fundraising team is a great way to build a sense of community for all your supporters in the event. Once you’ve created your charity team, make sure you invite anyone supporting you in the event to join. Need help setting up a charity team? download our guide here.
